Barry Bonds joined the pantheon of the baseball gods Tuesday night at AT&T Park by hitting his 756th homer, passing the legendary Hank Aaron to take over perhaps Major League Baseball's most hallowed record: first place on the all-time home run list.

Congrats Mr. Bonds on achieving a record most people thought wouldn't be broken.

(peeks from around the corner) :) :)

Today was a great-great day!!! Barry...I LOVE YOU!! You have provided me with 14 years of meaningful games......14 years of of 162 games that mattered......14 years of stellar defensive plays(well 9 years of stellar defensive plays)....14 years of knowing we have a chance......14 years of garlic fries(actually 7 years, garlic fries didn't have a home at candlestick).....14 years of great memories and 14 years of proudly defending my teams best player!!! Here's to you Barry!!!! I hope the next 14 years of being a Giants fan can be as good as these last have been!!!

Lets talk about the shot.....420+ feet WOW, no doubt about it!!! We just had finished our softball game and were drinking a few beers in the pizzeria when lift off occurred. Brian Ball, Derek Brooks, Scott Applegate, "Shoeless" Joe Golembiewski, Tom Noon and Joe Romano were all there to witness it!!! I thought it was great to see Hank's video message to BB. I really enjoyed Barry's speech and the tender moment as he thanked his dad, who played a huge role in his baseball and everyday life. It was great to see Willie on the field and I enjoyed the fact that Frank Robinson(underrated) was there in the commish's place. Another thing I really enjoyed was seeing Barry smile as he rounded the basses.....Lets just say this....Once Barry hit the HR...everyone in the pizzeria had a pretty good idea I was a Giants fan!!! Go Barry!!! Go Giants...Humm-Baby!!!

Congratulations to Barry Bonds!!!

Who caught the ball? Apparently that thing is worth at least 1 million dollars, which by my calculations is the equivalent of....
Over 330 BFR JP's!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Congrats Barry. I wasn't so sure I wanted to see this record broken especially with all of the negative publicity that has been going on with the investigations. But you know what, he has never tested positive for anything (AFAIK) and he did indeed jack 756 over the fence. Juiced or not there's a lot more at work than muscle to hit that many homeruns in a career.

Hey Kev, I'm happy for ya man. Enjoy. I was at Cal Ripken's 2131 game and know the feeling.

Hey f you are going to hand out asterisks you can start with ty cobb babe ruth and everybody down the line. When Barry did what he allegedly did it was not illegal or banned, period. I know many porfessional atheletes who say that uppers, special juice befre you hit the field have been around since day one. SOrry if he did something that was illegal then I agree with the asterisk......Steriods were used throughout the 70's 80's and 90's extensively

Now for the ultimate tribute I will close the thread......(I couldnt do that to Scoles..he is too nice a guy and as far as I can figure garlic fries and spezio are the only giants highlights he has had to deal with ...bask in the sun KS

Thanks BP!! :D It has been a long season for us Giants fans, and this is a nice consolation prize to an otherwise dismal 2007 Giants season!! He hit the ball three rows from my opening day seats.

Somtimes if I have to much to drink I'll end up having nightmares that I'm being attacked by Rally Monkey's with Scot Spezio's head. It's a horrid image! :)

ps
It would be interesting to see how many HR's BB puts up playing 162 games as the Angels DH next year.

Good for you Barry!!! Congrats!!!

I get so tired of people saying "it's the steroids, blah blah blah." Steroids don't make you a better baseball player, it takes skill to hit a ball. I know people who have taken or are taking roids and they can't hit a ball for sh*t.
