I really like 9.5 - 44 gauge sets. (9-42 feel too light, 10-46 feel a bit stiff). I sure wish EB would add these gauged sets!! 
The standard answer from Big Poppa is that the tolerances in making strings is essentially 0.0005". So, really, a 0.009 string could really be a 0.0095 string, or a purported 0.0095 could really be a 0.009. They can't get any more exact than that.
Anyway, after production, strings created for sets 9-42/10-46 can be sorted into 3 categories: 9-42, 9.5-44 and 10-46, right?
