Hi -- I'm looking at a Sterling 4H lined fretless that dates to 1995 with the "trans" bridge, no string mutes. Looks to be in very good to excellent condition. Any thoughts or considerations regarding this era of Sterling? Any thoughts on a reasonable price? Thx...

Any thoughts or considerations regarding this era of Sterling?

I had a fretless StingRay of the same 'era' and it was sublime.

I would consider the Sterling to be an excellent fretless bass, but is it really important to you to have an older one? The newer models come in a wider variety of configurations and that...

Just sayin' :)

Bought!!

I bought it for a good price, should be here in a few days. The color looks to be the same as the 30th Ann SR4, maybe? Nice addition to my MM collection, bass #3.
