Mike, I truly feel for you. I lost my dad at age 66 in November to a head injury/stroke, and my beloved grandfather in 1998 from A.L.S. (Lou Gehrig's Disease). Long struggles like yours are draining and are a strain on the family, but they do make you stronger in the end, though it may take time.

So, let's both breathe a sigh and collectively moon our recent misfortunes so that we may look forward to a brighter day. I think you know that we're all here if you need us.

ALS is so awful. I have a friend in my group that has recently been diagnosed. He's 30 and you can really watch how quickly it progresses. Life can be very very cruel.

Definitely hug the ones you love.

Hi Mike,

We don't know us but my thoughts are for you and your family. I share your pain.

My dad died in june 2003 after 2 and a halt years of fight with cancer. And I saw him be cheated from the inside by the cancer. The one who enjoy and smile to life was become to the point to hide in his bedroom so that nobody could see him.

My mother-in-law have severe Alzheimers since 2003. My spouses and I take care of her almost 3 years to when she becomes too violent with us and our childrens. It's hard to see her loose all her intellectuals means and having all her body healt. "What a cuel disease!!!" We love her very much and going to see her most often possible because we never know when that will be the end.

Peace.
