sorry to hear of your loss mike...with a disease like that it is often better, (not nesessarily easier) that they are not suffering anymore. he is in a better place now. keep your chin up!
Mike, my condolences. There's not much that anyone can say to relieve the pain in these hard times...
I too have lost my father almost 5 years ago, when he was 51 (I was 21), but I think of him every day! Keep remembering him, I'm sure he can still give you a lot of support!
Brent I know you mean well but there is no death Ive seen as sick and draining....NObody should have to endure it from the patients side or loved ones.
BP, I agree wholeheartedly. Even though people say death should be a celebration of life I find it hard not to dwell on the suffering and regression my Grandfather and family took the last 10 years of his life. There is not a day that goes by that the painful period in all my family's lives does not enter my mind and saddens me, even for a moment. Also, it doesn't help that I come from an Italian family if you know what I mean.
my most sincere condolences to you, Mike.
I just lost my uncle the day before yesterday, I wish you the best and I accept sincerely your advice.
Take care
Welcome back, Mike -- and my most sincere condolences for your losses. I am sure that being back here will be very therapeutic for you. It is true, never miss out on an opportunity to tell someone you love them. Life is precious, and way too short.
Thinking of you Mike. When my grandpa died last year he was suffering from Alzheimer's as well as bowel cancer - it's horrible to see someone lose both their physical and mental faculties - I have never forgiven myself for not seeing him as often as I wanted to towards the end as it was just so hard.
Wow! I can't tell you how much I appreciate the kind words and thoughts from all of you. You continue to reinforce my view that this community is just one big extended family.
I think I'm going to write 'Ernie Ball Music Man' on the LE I ordered a week ago....Oh wait, it will already say that!
