Hi everyone!

I just joined this cool forum...looking at all the neat pics of people's Sterlings, Stingrays, and Bongos has given me a major GAS issue.
I recently got to play/record with a beautiful black Sterling and now I'm looking for an Ernie Ball bass of my own (I haven't got to try out a Bongo yet but the Sterlings and Stingrays are cool). Was wondering what you guys think of this ebay offering?

I realize that it's not an original but are the Seymour Duncans good? also, I thought fret buzz is always bad, no?

What do you think?
Thanks.

Electronics all work perfectly and the bass has been set up to a T - the optimum amount of fret buzz! If you don't like fret buzz though, let me know

Um, I think the guy is an asshat.

haha, thanks for your responses, it's good to have some EB veterans helping me judge this - I guess this is why it hasn't gotten any bids yet?

By the way, anyone know a good dealer to get MMs in Canada?

Excuse me, but isn't another name for a "Custom" Ernie Ball Music Man that wasn't made by Ernie Ball a "Forgery"?

He said it was a Music Man shaped body. He took a MM neck, some after market parts, made a (nice looking, I admit) body shaped like a MM, some non MM aftermarket pickups, and put it all together.

Its not a real MM, if he didn't get the pickup location correct, it won't sound like a MM either. It might be great, might sound better than a MM, or it might be crap, you'll never know. That's why nobody has bid on it yet.

we got a 6 bolts here .. :p

Hi, is it weird to have a 6 bolts? (I don't know! please help)
I've seen a SR5 with 6 bolts on the back, does this mean it's not a true Ernie Ball?

Thanks!

No, this is not an Ernie Ball Music Man StingRay Bass.

I think he is pretty clear in saying where he got he parts. The PU must be in pretty close to the right spot, coz the PG is supposedly original.

it is nice looking bass, but, once again, it is not an all original EB MM bass.
