New member here. Already own a JP6 (non-piezo version) and am really interested in adding a Majesty to my collection. I have a few questions that hopefully you all can help with.

1. Is the case the same as the JP6 in that you do not have to remove the whammy bar - does it have the cutaway in the top of the case?

2. What's the battery life like? Are the batteries being drained only when you use the piezo or the boost? Also, is there any indicator that the batteries are getting low?

3. What's the best type of batteries to use?

4. How similar is the feel of the gunstock oil finished maple neck and the matte finish painted neck?

Thanks in advance for any help with this.

I can help with a few:

1. Most people will say yes - it does have a cutaway in the lid of the case. Personally, it seems to depress the arm on mine so I remove the bar.

2. Depends on how much you use it - the batteries are being used when you plug a cable into the guitar. There is a battery health indicator light on the backside that flashes briefly when you plug into the guitar. I am changing mine every 6 months regardless, unless I get warned by the lights.

3. ????? I have Energizers in it now -

4. The matte finish is very smooth to the touch, never sticky - I doubt you'd notice any real difference.

Thanks! Can you estimate approx. how many hours you put on it in 6 months? I'd be playing at least about 125-150 hours in a 6 month span. Again, thanks.

Not accurately. I have several guitars I play off and on regularly. Customer support told me an average of 6 months as a rule of thumb.

The neck is beautiful, as others have stated its a joy to play, batteries are a bit varying, I bought some supposed 'industrial' Duracell batteries and I find if I accidentally leave it plugged in they last around 40-48 hours, I don't think there is much difference if it's sat there plugged in or being played. I am going to get some better batteries and see how they last. You just need to check the led when you plug in, if it flashes orange it's time to change them.

Just try to stick with a major battery brand. I've bought Costco brand batteries in the past to save a few bucks. A year or two later, I noticed they leak way way more often than big brands. Luckily I learned this before owning a guitar that needs batteries.
