Why doesn't MusicMan offer Stingrays with the option of a single coil pickup in the neck position. I just thought this might be a good idea for people wanting more tonal options. Anyone think it'd be worth it?
+1. And talk to Bassplyr if you do decide to get a Bongo. And tell him Sammy P. sent you. Wink-wink x20.hankSRay said:I dunno, I dont think I'd like a Stingray if it had another pickup. I like the stingray for what it is, although it may only have one tone, thats the tone its known for. It kicks balls at doing what it does, and if you want something more than that well... get a bongo![]()

Aussie Mark said:I can't believe this "one tone" urban myth is still circulating. Through a quality amp/cabinet combination the Stingray produces a very wide range of tones, to suit many styles of music. For example, with the treble wound back and the bass boosted it's a magic funk or blues machine, and with the treble boosted it instantly becomes a prog rock or new age punk bass. In between there are tones to suit most rock and pop genres.
