So I like my A.L.'s pickups, but I've got a MM90 A.L. and a Standard Strat (whose single coil sounds I like better that the A.L.'s) so I'm thinking to experiment. I do like the fact that the bridge pickup is not harsh, and the neck pickup is warm, but the middle pickup does nothing for me (including positions 2 & 4). What have fellow A.L. owners done with pickups? Full out swaps, just the middle, bridge, neck? Talk to me peeps.

I guess it would be wise to mention that I'm after a hotter/brighter tone positions 2 - 5, hotter and more modern than my Strat's custom shop fat 50s.

A full set of rails, possibly. You have a Strat for the quack and MM90s for some dirt and crunch. SC sized rail pickups seem to be a reasonable choice without changing the pickup cavity.

As to brand, that's a matter of personal choice and budget.

Texas Finally!
I would leave the neck pup , it is an awesome pickup, then a JB Junior in the bridge and hotrail in the middle!
