Why does any question or alternate experience meet with such disrespect on this forum?

Thanks for the thread hijack. Go gripe somewhere else. Dont like the EB forum and the way its run? Post somewhere else. Weve had our share of trolls already.

In all honesty, if I never got another bass, and just played my SR5 for the rest of my life, I dont think my feelings would be hurt.

Me three (or is it four now?)

Regarding any disrespect that may be percieved on this board - the opinion of single pickup SR basses being only capable of one sound is a misinformed one. It isn't a point of pride that is specific to an EB forum - it's a general fact that applies to any make or model. The concept of disrespect is inarguably woven into the fabric of other forums, but not here.

Universally, any single pickup bass can provide a lot of tonal variation when a performer who knows how to do that plays it. That's the point of the discussion, in another thread that the BP quote was sourced from (WTH, BTW?) It isn't applied exclusively to Stingray "haters" per se, but it could seem like it here. The legendary Anthony Jackson plays a $8,000 custom made bass that has only one pickup and no tone controls at all. He still manages to get a ton of different tonalities out of it, using only his hands. To be fair to EB/MM, any accomplished player can achieve the same results on a Stingray, too.

Unless you're in BFE, or stay incognito from the music scene, that won't be an obstacle for very long.

Having now considered the bottom-end on the Bongo, a single 2x12 cab might be a better call.

Seriously who gets worked up about events on a forum anyway (no offence to anyone) but it is just a series of words attributed to little pictures that can be hardly made out..... its a little pyscho... shame there is no net police to monitor wankers like him...

ok so whats the pro/cons of a quad verses a single cab? excuse the ignorance, i swear in this case its not bliss.

im getting edja ma cated

If you're refering to 4x10 vs single speaker, the 4x10 cab will give you more definition and punch. A single 15 will give you more warmth and a more boomy sound. Typically, I should add.

From what you described of your style(s) of playing (Bongo bottom-end notwithstanding), a 4x10 or 2x12 would really be your best bet.

I'm kind of hoping some of the others will chime in on this one with their opinions.
