fwiw, been testing the Mini Rec with a number of different cabs/speakers. Using the right (or wrong...) cab makes a big difference with this amp.
We'll be getting the proper matching Mesa 1x12 slant cab soon...

Makes a big difference with any amp. A speaker is like a severe EQ stage just before your ears, and each model of speaker has it's own unique thing going on. It's as much a part of the "chain of tone" between the guitar and your ears as any other component.

I use a 2x12 Mesa cab with my Mini Rectifier. Yes, I think Mesa cabs are designed for Mesa amps... Last night played an an ad hoc gig with some friends at a local venue, Mini Rectifier channels were set from 25W to 10W and the bartender still complained about the sound levels...
