haha im here just woke up!!
hahah holy crap this is amazing! i knew this would get people talking hahah was really my initial idea in the first place :) But for the RECORD
ive used the LUKE ebmm with emg 81 in them for 10 years absolutely love em best guitar ever and i will go on using them!
i own a 20th silo amazing guitar but with out destroying its tone and putting different pickups in it , i really wouldnt use this for metal but i could..:)
im modifying my silo special over and over to get it to sound the way id like it for more metal tones and im getting there with seymour duncans sh 11 sounds pretty cool..
anyway
there still isnt a guitar in the ebmm range that i think appeals to the metal community ? the jp yes it does to some degree but what if he left EBMM? then what would they have?
for those saying pointy guitars and everything has to be black! serious wake up!!
i mean bands like Lamb of God, metallica, Arch enemy, Scar symmetry, killswitch engage, trivium, sevendust,in flames, anthrax, etc etc Dont use ebmm coz i dont think the guitars they are making at the moment APPEAL to them?
i could be wrong heheh but this has been pretty funny to read through all these posts:)
i love the JP
i love the LUke
i love the SILO
i love the Axis
I love THE NEW METAL guitar ebmm are designing after this thread hehehe:)
peace

I'd put the JP7 up for a metal guitar any day of the week. The pickups aren't uber output, but that can be changed, and I think that would complete the full transition if that's what someone wanted.

holy ****, we have a name! i was going to suggest the met.AL, but yours wins!

i think i'm gonna start a thread where everyone can write what in their opinion is a metal guitar. alot less messy then discussing whether EBMM should make one in a thread full of ppl who might or not like metal.

Ya, it's fair, because all music is not equal. "Twinkle Twinkle Little Star" is not the same as "Enter Sandman". So if someone wants to say that metal is not grown up music, that's a valid opinion.

Nursery songs can be, as you put it, one dimensional, but they could also be, as you put it, complex and inspiring.

It's in the ear of the listener.

Two people can hear the same piece of music. One thinks it sucks; the other thinks it's the greatest thing since Moses came down from the mountain. And you know what? They'd both be right.

I'm sorry, but that isn't really fair.

Music is music. Metal can be very one-dimensional and then again, it can be very complex and inspiring. It's just another texture. Just another color among the many other colors available on the palate(sp?).

Is it or is it not ok for me to show up to a METAL gig with a Pink DaisyRock guitar??? Im so confused right now!!!

Always ok. Always.

As for chasing a particular sound/look, why not just mod the hell out of whatever feels good? All EBMM models i've owned feel beyond good.

Oh, and great post by Roubster, Andy James is such a fantastic player.

wow...this thread exploded overnight (at least for me it was overnight :D )

But still the one question is unanswered - WTF is a metal guitar, when all those different Metal players play totally different guitars (like all country players, all Alternative players.....and all thos KIDS...).

I know, here we shouldn't talk about what other companies do, but I just want to give an example: Godin created the Detour (which still belongs to my arsenal) some years ago, which was supposed to point at exactly what our brothers here demanded...HH equipped, fixed or FR bridge, no bull**it, fair price. The guitar wasn't a success, so Godin went and asked the peer group, what they wanted in a guitar like that, and the answer to what the feedback was, is now the Redline.

Now look at that guitar (which is actually supposed to be based on market demand): it features a Strat-style body, EMGs, Fixed or FR bridge, and comes in Trans Red, Trans Orange, Trans Lime Green (all maple tops)....and of course black. So the appearance is a very traditional design....with EMGs and black hardware added. Is that it?

If that is the demand, then the EBMM answer could be easy: take a Silo or Al body shape (maybe mahogany), get rid of the PG, make it HH with EMGs, add black hardware and a Petrucci neck....done ;)

Still I have the feeling, that my dark bros here think I missed the point :D

e.mate: point was, some metal players want kellys or king vs or warriors instead of soloists or dinkys.

So, I was right....I'm misunderstood :D

I made an early post, asking if this question is about appearance....and got no reply on that. Now I know....it's exactly about appearance :p

But that's okay. Personally, I don't like all those Explorer, V-, whatever-style of bodies, because of the ergo-nonsense....however, there's one design that takes this to a higher level.....look at this:

For Sale -> Andreas Guitars -> Explorer -> ANDREAS SHARK GUITAR
