A Metal EBMM Guitar Should be MADE??

i think people are getting me wrong here? u CAN make any guitar metal i would just like to see a guitar purely configured for metal players thats Not a jp
and for those who think im a dick and cant play and its all about sharpe edges and black guitars with scooped mids?

No one walks into a music store, see's EBMM JP's, pictures of JP, cutouts of JP and a manager saying "we don't endorse anything Metal."

yeah, well, it takes 1000 bad ones to get one right. like, i never was into kellys. they looked way weird to me. after taking a closer look, i started liking them, alot.

today i started reflecting about it's shape. you should check out how those lines all have something in common. i mean, you can tell it's spinoff an explorer, but way more alien.

then i got here and there was this thread waiting for me to start a war >=)

form follow function, but when that's done, looking cool doesn't hurt.

what he meant was, the guitar isnt designed specifically for metal.

its like buying a pair of runners and saying "theyre not running shoes specifically, because you have the option to walk in them if you want" ... i want shoes with a minimum speed!

i think we should just settle to agree that the JP is not the pinnacle of metal in wood form, but it does indeed handle metal extremely well.

what the original poster is asking, is why dont Ernie ball make a guitar that attempts to, even moreso, better suit heavy metal playing? and i spose i would agree, if that was the only goal, the JP could be adjusted to better suit metal

dwells I understand what you mean 100% Bro. As someone who has played Fenders for over 30 years and has close to 2000 post on the Fender forum I have been in the same situation.

I have given up posting why cant Fender make a quality guitar with Humbuckers after being in business for 60 years. I say it like it is that it is a two guitar company and just ridicules that after all this time they still have not produced something special with buckers. Everything is based off of a tweaked Strat or Tele.

So some years back when I went to get a guitar with Humbuckers ,yes I was expecting to be walking out the door with a Gibson but I played an EBMM EVH first and that is what I left with. Outside of my Strats and Teles the only other make guitars I own are EBMM and this is the ammo I use on the Fender Forum.

If EB can come up with all these great guitars in the last 20 years I say has everyone at Fender been in a coma. There is a great line of guitars here and the quality and production is top shelf. I own 2 EVHs an Axis and a Petrucci and I am looking to add a Luke. Now all these great guitars plus a few other models with Humbuckers have been made in the last 20 years and yet Fender is still blanked- not a one.

You guys here have a really tight crew and even have Sterling Ball as an active forum member. It does not get cooler than that. The one thing I dont like is that when someone has an idea or opinion like you put out and guys dont like it or agree they come down with that mob mentality, and God for bid if Big Poppa had a negative view on it you would be chewed to bits as there is a lot of royal ass kissing. Believe me if he popped on and said we have been looking at making a dead out metal ax 90% of the guys that bashed you if not more would be like great Big Poppa that is amazing.KISS,KISS That is the only problem I find with anything EBMM and why I drop in very infrequently. Damn for some of the things I have said on the Fender forum when I feel the company is being cheap(giving gig bags for some axes over a grand) or not letting a girl who broke her guitar neck in a car accident not get a replacement neck when she almost got killed to boot (just down out wrong) I am surprised I have not been booted yet.lol But all I can do is keep it real.

stray cat hooray mate !!!! cheers buddy haha i dont mind the bashing coz it all makes for good humour !! but id still love to see a slick metal axe made professionally and tweaked to metal players needs.. if it never happens im fine with that i love my ebmms i dont play anything else..

After all, this is still the best forum I know...not only because it's about Balls here, but also because through all that bashing and argueing, there's still the feeling that this is the place where a bunch of crazy dudes is somehow fine with each other. So brother, what would ya think about, let's say a Silo Xtreme
Config like a 20th Hardtail, but sharper edge contours. Mahogany body plus maybe DiMarzio D-Activators or EMGs, limited color range. What would ya think?

I remember a dark trans blue burst on a figured poplar veneer, but can't actually remember the brand of that guitar. They did exactly that....massive mahogany body, and a very thin "wild" poplar veneer, just for the looks. Man, I wish I had a pic of that body....you would have loved it, absolutely insane

Dean, I see what you're getting at. But I'd like to make the point that not every metal player's needs is the same as everyone else's. For instance, you play metal and use a Luke with EMG 81 at the bridge. So in your case, the Luke is metal and suits your needs. I play metal and use a BFR JP7 with a D-Sonic 7 at the bridge. In my case, the JP7 is metal and suits my needs.

So I guess I'm trying to ask what exactly would be tweaked to metal players' needs? I posted a short list earlier of what *I* would like to see, but that doesn't mean you agree, and it doesn't mean other metal players will agree. It would be impossible to create one model of guitar for all metal players...

This doesn't mean I wouldn't welcome a new EBMM model made more for metal players. I'd likely buy one in an instant.

Foggy, it covers the LoG, Arch Enemy, Scar Symmetry, KSE, Trivium, Sevendust, In Flames, Anthrax, etc. portion also.

To Dean's point, though, it's made for JP, not for the general "metal" populus. So it's good for more than just metal. It's not a cookie-cutter, black, EMG-equipped "metal" guitar.

On another note, In Flames is well known as a band of devout Gibson players. Jesper plays Explorers and Bjorn plays Les Paul Customs. Funny, that. I see more Les Pauls in rock & pop than metal...

I agree with this. JP's tone and technique on Master isn't up to snuff. The down-picking makes the song. You gotta do it that way to get the right feel...

OK I resent stray cats rap...totally....its in the delivery bud...maybe thats why they aren't listening to you on the Fender forum. Usually someone gets jumped on when they are attacking insipid or knee jerk....claiming the royal ass kissing is bs i get in a lot of dustups with regulars and we work through it. You know nobody mentions the shots keyboard warriors take at me on a regular basis...Im ok with those too. Maybe people agree with me because they like the body of work and the way we do business? Maybe they understand that maybe I have a little experience and expertise? Maybe they are just mindless droids of dummies and Im am a virtual ventriloquist

Now how about my take on Fender and humbuckings?

For as long as I have shaved both Fender has tried to make a set neck humbucking guitar and gibson has tried to make a bolt on. Gibsons deal with the hendrix estate recently selling strat clones is the most recent. Its funny to watch...there is a deeper thing...trying to move the general public is much different that trying to move a forum of already converted. THe market percieves Fender as a bolt on company. Until they either collaborate in a true sense with a set neck artist (they tried with Robben Ford) or really come up with something unique and stick with it year after year...it takes patience and money you are rolling a boulder up a hill. Trust me Ive been doing it for 25 years. You can use me as an example but they make what I make in a year in 5 days. We are different and my level of success in a certain type would be unacceptable sales results for their machine.

Metal= EMG's..Then you must be talkng about mid to late era metal.....Since when did EMG become the 'metal 'pickup....go to the roots of metal and the boys at emg had paper routes. I like those boys It's not about that...

Metal..flying V Explorer....les paul derivitives and take offs and jams and riffs.....humbuckings thats the origins.....which do you want...the great thing is that Im safe because everyones definition is different

Now let me explain once again the power entitlement and superior assuptions that diehards make. I keep telling you guys that you are cayenne pepper and I like cayenne pepper but if I listened to you guys I would be broke. Case in point on the bass side....if you read the forum and were a buyer for a store you would have a wall of about 10 different flatwounds sets and one roundwound because the cool people have flats in their mantra....guess what Flats sell like dog poop. If the forum is truly enlightened then the rest of the buying public has blinders on.

Lets keep rolling and try to come up with critiques of this place that arent easy cliches with little backup.

I think metal is in the amp more than the guitar.
