So, for the last few years I have worked as a sales rep for another guitar manufacturer. Part of my agreement allowed me to still use my EBMM basses. I had from this other company 13 guitars in my possession. They started running their business in ways I did not agree with so I made the decision to part ways with them. When I asked the owner what he wanted me to do with the 13 guitars. He told me to keep all of them. He had previously told me they were mine but since I had decided to part ways with the company, I wanted to make sure he was going to still hold true to his word and he did. Well, I had 13 guitars that I no longer wanted or needed so I made a trip to Guitar Center to hopefully trade in some for at least 1 or 2 Music Man guitars or basses. They ended up giving me 10k for all 13. Soooo, I got a plethora of gear. A Stingray 5H, a Game Changer guitar, a JP 6 in Mystic Dream, a Taylor 414ce acoustic, a Breedlove acoustic bass, 2 American Standard P basses but when I got them home it only took a few minutes to realize why I prefer Music Man over Fender and have already made plans to swap them out next week for another Music Man bass or two. Probably going to go with another Stingray 5 as I am in love with the one I got yesterday. They have to ship me my Game Changer and will have to ship my other Stingray 5 next Saturday. Once I get all of my EBMM guitars and basses at my house I'll post pics of everything. Oh yeah, I also got a Yamaha acoustic guitar with a gig bag for my daughter whose birthday is in a few days and got a Boss bass digital effects processor.

Big Poppa, sorry I got 2 P basses. I have never owned one in 30 years of playing and wanted to add something different to my mix. But in doing so I found why I love Music Man so much. I also played the new Caprice bass and Cutlass bass and absolutely loved them. You guys did great work with those and if I don't get a Stingray 5, I may get one of those.

Interesting story! Exemplifies the meaning of "trade in, trade up". We've done that many times, just not with such volume!
Be proud of sticking to your personal principles rather than following your former employer down a dark path.
As for the P-basses, sometimes you just have to try and find out what you're missing (or not...). Now you know!

Look forward to pics....

Fantastic. Enjoy your MM's ... I know you will :)

As to P-basses, the only one I've ever loved, and
I admit to still having it, is the USA P-deluxe. It's
a P-bass for us MM lovers, if I dare say so around
here. Mine is the previous version with a "twin-J"
in the approx StingRay spot, and has a serious EQ
-pre on board. For those few times when you are
expected to arrive with an actual Fender bass, it's
as close to a SR as Fender has offered. The latest
version no longer has the twin-J bridge PU, so as
of that "upgrade" [??] Fender has nothing for the
MM player who might "need" a Fender [place sad
or smiley imogee here, depending on whatever].

Fender really doesn't "get it". I think my P-deluxe
is just a result of fortunate happenstance, due to
insane, apparently random, model proliferation. I
love my MMs, and the thing that makes me love
them also makes me quite fond of a few non-MM
attempts that come pretty close and as such they
round out my "MM mix". One of that few is a one
of a kind built by a MM-lover. Where else could I
have acquired a thin-line hollow body SR-type :)

I went back yesterday and returned the P basses and acoustic bass for another Stingray 5 H and a Cutlass bass. The Cutlass won't ship until the end of the month approximately but the Stingray 5H will ship on Monday.

Would love to see an EBMM in this configuration. Even better if it was active/passive.
