So a few months back I bought what I assume is the last "unloaded" overstock JP6 on the clearance sale from Guitar Center. I had actually wanted to buy the guitar during their first clearance sale back in January, but the neck had an issue that would require repair and I decided to go with a different maker.
When the sale came around again I jumped at the chance to get the JP6 and, after having it only a couple of weeks, I sent it off to Music Man for repair. The repair was completed in the time I was quoted and what I got back was fully "gone over" guitar with a brand new (and better than before) neck. The guitar I bought back in January had begun to disagree with me, so I sold it and went back to guitar center where I immediately sought out a 7 string Petrucci to replace it. I lucked out and found that the Greensboro NC store had 6 or so different 7 string Petrucci guitars. I bought a JPXI.
The truth of the matter is I could have bought many guitars. I am 40 now, and I've had probably every brand guitar from the last 30 years and some really rare birds...I mean how many of you have had a Russtone (made in Russia, long since out of business) or a Bolt (made in PA, also long since gone)? Many of them sound great, but very few of them have good customer service or a quick turnaround time on repair. Music Man has both. Thanks to Billy Imperial for his assistance on the neck issue.

Close up of that new rosewood...minty fresh!
The JPXI...I guess this is Onyx, but it looks like a dark metallic blue to me (and yes, I need to oil the ebony ASAP)
