Question A question about changeing heaviey string gauge. should i need to reset up my neck ?

A question i have been ask about 1000's peoples and no one can 100% sure to talk me .
i am playing guitar about 9 years now .... and this question i ask all the people in my country who play guitar ,,and all the answer i got was <i think .... i guess or maybe ....>,,, really hope for a real answer here ...

the question is
When i changing heaviey string gauge. should i need to reset up my guitar neck ?
if i am using 9-42 now ... if i change to 11-52 or more heavier....
i heard many people said ..if not? re setup ...that will bend and damage the neck..

is that true ?

my guitar is a fixed bridge.. my guitar is LTD V-401
i really want to find out ...

The extra string tension will bend the neck more than light trings will, producing more neck relief and higher action. You'll probably need to tighten the truss rod to compensate and bring the action back to where it was previously. If you are unsure about any of this, a good guitar technician or luthier will be able to help. It's an easy job.

I'd say absolutely yes, unless you get lucky. I've found these EBMM's to be more sensitive and need frequent tweaking, primarily with my JPX. I adjust mine seemingly too much, but I think it may be because my studio temperature is not controlled and that causes the wood to tweak, not sure if it's related to the thinness of the neck. Maybe it's because they adjust so easily (which their adjustment is one of the best designs on the market IMO), or that they're fine instruments and I can sense the subtleties in how it changes, or maybe it's because I have my action razor thin low (hahahahaha). For me, if I changed string gauge, I would definately tweak the neck.

Oh ... Thank you Drkey & Razzle very much for helping ...
and i also have a querstion....
i saw my guitar neck was a little underbow ....when i saw the ESP_Owners_Manual .. it said loosen the truss rod...
but i have never turn the truss rod before .... so i really don't know how to do ....
and i have a question.....is the guitar neck must be 100% straight???
if my guitar's Sustain is ok ....and no fret buzz......does i need to make the neck 100% straight???
and how about your guitar neck???

100% straight is not necessary. In fact, for most people, a little forward bow is optimum (which is checked by holding the string down at the 1st and 15 frets and looking for a small gap between the string and the 7th fret) BUT if your guitar plays well without string buzz and you like the action, then play and enjoy!
