A Question about pricing...

how much do the EBMM JP's sell for at wholesale price? not MSRP, but how much the stores actually pay for it? i am just a little curious. I dunno if this goes against the forum rules, but i have not seen anything regaurding questions about the pricing of EBMM's.

I don't know if there's any rules about this, but I doubt EB would disclose that kind of information. It does help considerably when trying to bargain a price. I'd say just shop around and get quote from a bunch of different retailers.

that's true. i am sure they would like to make money too... but i would like a nice new... JP6 Black Sapphire w/ Matching Headstock and Piezo....

I don't know if this rule is the same for every country or every type of commercial activity, but as a rule of thumb a commercial margin is between 20% and 50%. Under 20%, the shop loses money (you have to pay the employees, taxes ...).
With some products you can have margin over 50% but in a competitive market, it is pretty rare.
For music shop, I don't know if it is the same, but remember : everybody has to gain money in the transaction otherwise it is not viable ... you, you lose money but you gain a guitar
