I just saw this on youtube and took a quick screen grab.
Luke seems to be favoring the Dual Humbucker proto, we haven't
seen much of this one yet.

I'm not sure if you meant L-III or II but I am pretty sure this is a III proto.
They have said that the Luke II isn't going to change so he wouldn't be testing for that guitar.

They might release a 2 L-III (passive), 1 with a humbucker and 2 singles and 1 with 2 humbuckers, there are sounds on Lukes songs and Toto songs that would need a single coil. But i think it's time to widen the Lukes (guitar) range, some people love the Luke, but want 2 humbuckers, so this could possibly increase interest and sales.

Crap if thats so, 1 (HSS) and 1 (2HB) I'll have to double down. Hence increasing sales...

No I believe thats the III as Sterling stated Luke changed his mind about going with the reverse headstock, and the guitar seems a bit bigger. He sure seems to be busy working over every configuration, I think this will be some guitar and their is also something about a push button I believe on the tone knob. My guess would be to split the humbucker, or maybe even a few tone options.

That's a cool feature. I hope it's different from the Luke II but very similar at the same time lol

I don't think there's any way to be clear about anything.

It's just a prototype at this stage, right? I'm sure BP will let us all know the deets one the guitar makes its way to production, assuming it does.

I saw / heard lukes new rig & LIII in London on Sunday, and beforehand I was interested to hear how different the new stuff sounded, particularly the LIII. Well I can safely say none of it sounded any different at all. He is still the same guy and still sounds like him whatever he is playing through. In the middle of a packed out, sweaty & loud gig like that, all the nuances of tweaked equipment get lost in it all.

I actually thought the True gold sounded very different, think EMG's have a very distinctive sound...
