I know you all have em!!! You know, that certain MM guitar(s) or bass(s) that you've determined you will never play.

I have a couple MM Axis that I will only start playing if my main guitar goes down for maintenance, etc. . (which is also an Axis), other than that "NO" fret wear!!

What do ya got that's absolutely unplayed, and what determined why you will never put fret wear on it?

NONE... I buy my balls to play them :D:p If they ever need a re-fret I'd send them to EBMM.

guitars are meant to be played.... the really cool guitars are the ones that have been broken in and used.... look at Steve Morse's original EBMM... or Luke's black sparkle... the idea of getting a guitar and not playing it is very alien to me...

My 100% mint Trans Blue EVH sits in it's case, played it 10 mins since I bought it.

I DID buy it to play, but prefer my other EBMM's, so the EVH sits untouched. Probably worked out well, as it may be worth a bit down the line ?

I play them all to varying degrees, based on how much I'm into them. I do have some that have been only played an hour or so, but not for preservation or investment reasons...just that something else usually grabs me.

On the rare occasions in the past where I've purchased a case queen (usually on impulse), I eventually sold it rather than keep it around.

Of course, I would make exceptions for some guitars :)

That's a beaut, Dizzy.

I think my F@nder 62 RI Jazz has about an hour on it. Why don't I play it?

Ask BP.

I took a good look at Luke's black sparkle last week and I think beavers have gotten to it.

Yeah I understand, it's kinda like Harley riders. Many are content "just to have one in the garage" under a cover (in the case as it were) that they can look at from time to time with great satisfaction, while others may ride just a few times a year.

My Balls are as much a "work of art" to have and to hold till . . . .. . ., what am I saying!!?? The hard part is choosing which ones!! Decisions, decisions!!!

I don't know if I could ever play that EVH though, well, unless it was an EBMM bash in Las Vegas, being filmed by Jimmy Kimmel live!!

Don't have one. In fact, I'm personally distraught that some guitars are made specifically to never be played. I feel like it's cheating them of their purpose. They are made to be played (even the ridiculously expensive ones). It's one of the reasons I don't believe in owning too many guitars. In fact, my ball that I played the least is on loan to a buddy who digs it a lot. It won't bother me if he truly loves it and wants to play it for the next several years - I just want it to be played and loved and have a good home. I think all guitars deserve that.

Buying a guitar not to play it is totally pointless. I can see why somebody would have a '59 Les Paul as an investment piece, but buying a regular production guitar to never play it seems really daft!

I've had a lot of people ask if I was going to play my BFR Luke... Hell yeah. It's pretty, 1 of 10 and all that, but it's a player.
