What would I like most? Free EBMM basses. Can you say "endorsement?" :D

I voted for 35" scale. The thought of EBMM 5-strings with a 35" scale will keep me awake tonight LONG after my gig (so what else is new.)

Magnus, yours is not a stupid poll as such, and I am in no position to criticize it, so respect to you is given.

Now that I have learnt a bit more about the ethics of the EBMM company I can see where BP & Co. are coming from and how they must continue to go on, in order to make instruments in a way that allows their company and employees to survive.

I have memorized what Sterling Ball has mentioned a few times, both in his blogs and in his answers to other members, one of his main goals is to protect the wages of his employees by streamlining the creation of things he can be guaranteed to sell without taking financial risks.

As a result, from BP's machine point of view, all the options you have suggested would mean for them to interrupt their production line to put those suggestion in reality.

Another thing that it’s now "saved" in my memory is what BP said about his clients, the forum is only a small part of the rest of the clients who buys Music Man products, who have never even heard of the forum.

The foot line of the main forum page says: 12,736 registered members of which only 4,463 are active, meaning the other 8273 are non participant.

Even if all 4463 were in favour of a particular off line instrument, it still would not justify the diversion unless it is something that EBMM purposely decided to build in limited numbers, such as the anniversary and BFR models.

Personally I wouldn't mind if, for example, we were able to purchase black hardware (as used in the stealth pieces) to customize our guitars to our heart content, after all these are things the company already produces. Of course I can see why they won't sell pickups, in case someone butchers a single p/up Ray to make it a 2 humbuckers, then he/she end up frying the preamp and complain to CS that their bass doesn't work anymore.

It would be nice if there was a bit more flexibility from their aftermarket department, selling things like black / gold machine heads, which would not damage an instrument, bridges even and not discontinue popular choice of pickguards.

But let me make it clear that I am not asking for these to be made, neither am I suggesting it, I am only day-dreaming about imaginary options that would be welcomed provided that they don't pose a risk for EBMM.

What I would like is:

.....a short scale 35" double necked bass with both a 5 string and a 3 string neck. The fiver would of course, be headless and feature a compound radius fretboard, while the 3 string side would be completely passive and maybe not even have any electronics at all, depending on the hollow body half to project its sonic waves, and would without a doubt be constructed of rotted maple with a knotty pine top.

Also, I would really like a case that looks like a coffin.

I'll wait.

I'm sensing some aren't catching on to the intent of the thread.

Jack has a bit of the spirit though.

This is a very funny thread.

But wasn't the all passive bass done before (the passive Sub bass)??

Is the 3 string TL special a 2 over one headstock? Or 3 in line.
