Hey cats.

I just had a small thought train come into the station. When the music Man website gets updated, would it be possible to show a neck dimension picture with sizes for every MM guitar/bass offered?

I know for me, it would help, because I've been very curious about the V-shape on the LUKE. I am sure this would help others with the shape of the JP6 and JP7.

Example:

NECK DIMENSION

Thoughts?

I'm pretty sure they are working on it. I have a feeling that they have a whole bunch of things planned for the new Music Man website. But remember that have a lot going on these days. This years Battle of the Bands, BFR, 2007 LE's, WAH's and anything else that they might be cooking up.

Do we know when the website is due to be updated?

Any day now. And if you believe that, let me tell you about this bridge I've got for sale....

I've been a member since late summer 2005 and the MM website has not changed since then, except in very small ways (adding the multiple pickup basses to the diagrams page, for example). The SUB still appears on it despite being discontinued for some time now. The instrument builder is way, way out of date. You can't configure a Bongo with it, and the Bongo has been around for something like four years now.

The website is quite evidently a low priority for the company. Fine by me...I'd much rather see the time and resources devoted to R&D, production, and maintaining the stellar quality of EBMM instruments.

On the other hand, in the age of the Internet the company website is your introduction to the world at large. It does have a significant effect on how the public perceives you. How current the website is has nothing to do with the company's products, of course, but the perception is there nevertheless (i.e., if a given company can't keep their website current then what else are they allowing to slip?).

I'm not surprised that the website is way down on the list of things to do. EBMM is going great guns, has a significant backlog of orders, has good name recognition and certainly doesn't need to drum up new business with a fancy website.

This forum is the best way to introduce EBMM to the world.

Instrument Builder...Fogman can sort that out for you :) .

Celebrity Guests!

Customer support!!

News and rumours!!!

I did laugh yesterday at the dealers when i was ordering my JP6 LE (did i mention this before :) ). The guy had confused the LEs with the BFR so said "let check on the website". I told him that wouldnt do him much good and he should just accept my explanation but he still went ahead and loaded it up only to discover that in this instance, the customer was right.

I have also been surprised how out of date the website is. But as you said, there are probably other priorities and it doesnt seem to affect sales!

While I do agree that Music Man has great numbers in sales and probably is busy enough, I still believe that an outdated website totally affect the sales in a big way. The internet is such a huge thing. Wouldn't it be better to have to hire more people and expand if business grew?

totally agree with adouglas on this. Just look at Haagen Daaz. That would started in the BRONX! They just created a perception that made people think it is better ice cream. They came up with a name that means nothing (literally) and charged double. My point is, how the public perceives you is HUGE. (i.e. eminem)

Patience. With the busy schedule (yes, you have no idea how busy they are) they will get to it. Some good points have been made. Big Poppa and staff have more going on than just guitars, strings, accessories, swag and the like. I am envious that they can keep the schedule that they do and come on here to talk to us almost daily.

I am just as anxious as the next knucklehead to see the updated site...but, if it has to wait while they continue to bring out great products, I can wait.
