So tonight my ladyfriend and i were heading into town for a little date. I live in a small town thats within short distance of a fairly large city, but it's still a nuisance to get out there, so whenever i can i make a point of getting to the places i need to go in one trip. There had been a strap i was eyeing at a music shop i've been to a couple of times and i just got paid so i decided i'd go pick it up while i was out. But i digress.
I know the music store i went to was an authorized EBMM dealer, and i had seen a bit of stock in there before, like a SUB and i think a stingray of some kind, but this was before i became an afficionado and they never really caught my eye, so i never really expected them to carry anything worthwhile. But as i went in and started looking around after grabbing my strap, i noticed something that made my day.
6 new MM basses had been put up on the wall
. Listen to the awesome list if gear they got in: a SUB, a vintage burst SR5H, A 20th aniversary SR5 HS (that looked totally rad btw), and the most awesome surprise, A Dargie SR4 and SR5
. Seeing them in person was awesome, they looked amazing. I pointed out the martini glass inlays to my girl and she just laughed at both me and the bass
. This best part for me though, was that they had gotten in an SR4 HH, which i currently have on order. This was my first chance to actually play a dual pick up version (i had decided to order one based mostly on concept and reviews) and i was blown away. The sound was awesome, the extra pickups adds so much, and the feel of it was so amazing. It really did play like butter
. It made me so much more excited for mine to show up. Had it not been an ugly finish (Some kind of copper or gold i'm not exactly sure, but i deffinately didn't appeal to me) i no doubt would've bought it on the spot. I would've taken pics of them all but me and my lady were in a hurry.
Sorry about the long rambling post but i thought i'd share my awesome experience with people who could really appreciate it
