Sterling, I'll always remember you ...just like that! LOL!

One of my favorite pictures, seriously. Maybe the VBTC badge holder is what provoked that!

Anyway, I did check out the Al and 25 at NAMM and liked them both, lots of cool options, and very hip design-wise.

Weren't we talking about Tony Levin's strap or something?

No, THIS is a one-handed compliment:

I love that bass cam "Sledgehammer" video. I've watched it a few times already and love it every time.

Speaking of Tony, check out this video of him showing his EBMM basses on tour, including "Big Red" (25th):

Lots of us watch Tony Levin play. Few of us can play like him. What's up with that? BP can you build basses that sound like Tony and Cliff and Dave for all of us? :D

LOL BP. You are lucky I never subjected you to my playing. LOL

It is sure fun listening to Tony and all the real talent play.

More fun meeting all of them and realizing they are just the same kind of folk that we are.

now where is the humble pie? I have over stated.

I've enjoyed listening to Tony's playing for a long time. I loved what he did on John and Yoko's Double Fantasy record.

Tony's work with Peter Gabriel is just unearthly. I think we all know that.

Might I suggest you check out some of his "lesser known" work?

Jules Shear's wonderful American pop record, "Healing Bones".

Willie Porter's records. (Okay, disks. Or mp3s. screw it, I'm old.)

And the work he did with Paula Cole.

Great, great pop bass work from the master of the more 'technical' bass line.

Having Tony Levin express interest in Aggie then speaking outside with Tony.

Well he is my friend for life.

I won't miss anything he does on purpose.

Same with Cliff Hugo.

They both can play some badassed bass lines and when they hang with us old guys they are normal folks and nothing but genuine.

If Tony ever does a gig in Kansas. He has a place for a home cooked meal and a roof for the night.

I won't ask for bass lessons as I couldn't hang.

I interviewed him a while back for the now departed Bass Guitar magazine, and I found him him to be incredibly insightful, thoughtful, and articulate. Nice guy too! I'll see if I can dig it up, scan it in and post it to my articles page.
