whoring!

I got my Fretless Bongo last year on the 22nd. This is the first bass that I have owned for a full year! Still loving this bass, plays itself and everybody who plays it agrees. Just for kicks, lets take a look at all the basses that have passed through my hands since.

First, we will start with the two basses that were here when this arrived.

The Pearl Lavender was of course the first to go because it was cursed and I had a new fretless to play.
Then I picked this Black Bongo 4HH from a Tber for a nice price.

The Metal Flake Green was traded to Strangeglow for this Lava Pearl 4HH.

I never intended to keep two 4HH Bongos so I put them both up seeing which one would sell first. The Lava Pearl ended up getting traded to Slamzilla for his Bongo 5HH with piezo.

This is where it gets a little fuzzy. I don't remember when I sold the the Black 4HH, but I do remember selling it to BigBallz before he went totally off the deep end. You might say it was very WHORISH of me.

Right around this time was when I placed my order for a Single H Bongo. However, there was still a bit more whoring to do. I found this NOS Pearl Lavender Sterling in a small shop in Austin.

The Fiver was then ship off to Paris...Texas that is, where our very own Oldtoe, who happened to be in town, was kind enough to hand deliver it for me.
This would bring us to March and the arrival of the Ringo Bass.

The Sterling would soon depart and after making a detour in New York is now safely tucked away in Dave Jeffery's killer collection. For about 4 months it was just the two Bongos. But then I found a killer Egyptian Smoke SR5 at GC on July 4th and had to bring it home. A truly great instrument and makes me want another one.

Sold that to Aragorn as I wasn't in a position to keep two fretteds at the time and I wanted to concentrate on 4's for the lessons I just started taking.
Not really looking for a new bass, this Long and McQuade SR4 HH caught my eye on eBay. As I was about to hit the Buy it Now, the seller raised the BIN 150 bucks and the minimum bid 50 dollars less than the Original BIN. Oh well, his loss I thought. But I kept an eye on it as the auction wore on and nobody bid on it. I ended up getting it for 50 bucks cheaper than I was originally willing to pay...sucker.

This of course led to the selling of the Beloved Ringo bass, a move I am sure to regret in the months to come. But I can always order another Bongo, these L&M's are pretty rare.

So after all of that, what has been there the whole time...

Thanks for indulging me everybody.

You are a big man, in the sense that you are able to actually "sell" some of them...
I admit not being able to do that... NICE collection though....

The Ringo bass... very classy man. That L&M looks great too!
But that Fretless Bongo!!! MAN! I want one JUST LIKE THAT!! :D :D
It's a KILLER! If somebody could buy me that F**der, I would order one on the spot!

a Bongo HH fretless/piezo is the only bass I'm gassing for now - I've moved everything else to cases in preparation for a big clearout.

That's a lot of basses, Paul! :D

My story isn't nearly like yours, but I'll post it anyway since it's short.

This was my first Stingray, a 2000 SR4.

Then, last year I bought an '05 SR4 in natural. Kept the 2 SR4s together for about a month or so.

Soon, I shipped off the black 'Ray to our very own Moondog, and received this beauty from him:

Kept the SR5 for a few months, but I ended up shipping it off because I felt better on a 4-string. Now my only EBMM bass is the all-natural SR4:

I do miss those other 2 EBMM basses I had dearly! :(
