I was a bad girl. I love my Sterling but it is a heavy b*st*rd at 10lbs so I went to Guitar Center to see if they had a pink sparkle D*isy R*ck I could use as a back up bass for long shows. They didn't have one but I played a million basses.

Conclusion: Nothing compares to the neck, feel, small body, and sound of my Sterling. Well I knew nothing would compare sound wise... that was a given. Maybe I just need a lighter weight Sterling as a main or backup to the Sterling I have now.

I am spoiled rotten by the sound of my Sterling. Even basses >$500 sounded like crap to me.

Yes. You just need to find you a lighter weight Sterling. You think BP will let you stray from MM basses?

Or you could just suck it up. I'm 5' 8" and 130 lbs. and both of my basses weigh in at 11 lbs.

Similiar with me,almost 5'10'' 132 pounds. My stelring is probably 9 something,sr5 i havent weighed yet but its most likely 10 something,if not 11.Ill hope its not 11 though


having played a pink daisy rock bass ,i will tellyou to stay away. They are on par with squier,but cost a lot more.

aint that something, the biggest one of all you sterling players ended up with the lightest one lol. I'm 5' 11" and 215lbs and my sterling weighs 8.7lbs. The StingRay I have on the way is supposed to be around 10lbs so it balances out I guess.

I looked for a light Sterling for quite awhile and finally lucked onto a Copperhead Bronze. 8.7 lbs and it sounds/plays great!

I'm 6'-2" 245# and my Sterling comes in at just over 8#. I got lucky I guess on the axe weight but have a degenerative back and am also just getting old. Sometimes the Stingray just kicks my butt even at 10#. But of course it is more of a butt kicker for all within earshot as well. Just my opinion.

I shipped my Sterling yesterday (for a Bongo that's coming my way), and the entire package weighed in right around 15 lbs... Or at least that's what the receipt read...

I hear singleH Bongo4's are pretty light.

Graduated high school at 5'6" and 135lbs. 15 years later, I am 5'6" and 185lbs. Of course, I can squat quite a bit and bench quite a bit but still, I miss being light.
