"So now I play bass in rock bands, bugle in the Drum Corps and trumpet in various other groups."

Mobay 45, I gotta give you a lot of credit. Playing in a drum & bugle corps is about as disciplined as it gets. Way too structured for my ways. Good job!

Those of you who aren't familiar with a drum & bugle corps, you need to check out a contest sometime. They ROCK!:p

You did notice that I said Shriners Drum and Bugle Corps. Discipline is not our strongest suit. We are the reigning State Champions and have been for several years. It will seriously wear you out being the head of an all volunteer group of musicians this size though. I think I will let someone else run this group next year. I don't know what size the bands you've played in have been, but just imagine trying to get 30 plus people together to rehearse! It can certainly be a nightmare.

Oooooo!

I have a white Fender Jazz (am I allowed to say the "F" word here?) with abalone dot inlays. An abalone pickguard like that sure would look fancy on it. That same pickguard maker is cutting me 2 new Bongo guards as we speak. I wish I knew he could do abalone.
