Abalone really IS the new tort!

Well thanks to the lovely Beth at EB, my nice new shiny abalone pg arrived today And it looks gorgeous! Can't take proper pics as it gets dark about 3pm here at the moment, but here is the best I could do with what I had.

Looks cool! Does anyone have a pic of a Sterling or Ray blue pearl/abalone pg? I am contemplating that move.

Setup is done! PG only arrived yesterday, and only went on last night - so you're not behind at all hun! Not long come back from the guitar nirvana that is Machinehead where my baby has been beautifully set up (and polished - frets and EVERYTHING! ) by Barrie the tech. In the last of the daylight managed to take a nice pic - with no nasty flash

I will NEVER EVER sell this bass. I would rather sell a kidney. Or a lung. Or Trev!!!

Moonstone is nice on the reddish finishes as well - as opposed to Abalone, which has a lot of blue, the Moonstone is a similar texture, but with more reddish overtones:

I'm thinking that some sort of scratch resistant glossy black PG would look sweet on Candy Apple or my Trans Red. Any idea if that's even possible?

The black PG that was on my bass seemed quite scratch resistant - not glossy tho - more matt than anything, but still looks tasty!

May suit you - but you may have to order direct from the factory.

They are pretty distinct when you look at it in person - the photo really does not give quite the true color of the PG . . . .
