Will/Has EBMM ever make/made them?

I've been listening to a lot of Dave Matthews lately and am feeling the need to own an acoustic. Any other DMB fans here?

I find his lyrics to be so REAL. It just blows my friggin mind sometimes.
 
BP has addressed it before, not sure exactly, but a search should turn it up. But from what I recall, it was in the jist of "different market, different manufacturing, etc... so no." lol

But there are tons of great acoustic manufacturers

What manufacturer would you recommend that has a similar feel to them as EBMM-guitars have?
 
I've never played an acoustic that feels like an electric, or vice versa, no matter the brand. They are totally different animals. TOTALLY. I actually started playing guitar on a nylon classical and despite the fact that I play my EBMM's more now, I really don't think of the two (acoustic and electric) as the same thing.

Besides obvious acoustics designs, the one thing that acoustics have to contend with (in terms of design) is tuning stability, and wood stability. I've have never seen an acoustic with an unfinished neck intentionally as part of its design.

But as far as build quality and wonderful tone, yeah of course!

There are many many high quality acoustic brands out there, and many many gifted luthiers who hand build them in the boutique market. Taylor, Martin, Breedlove, Gibson, even Takamine and Yamaha (though for some reason, acoustic snobs hate them) Seagull and the very very underrated acoustics from Maton from the brothers down under. Only way to pick an acoustic is to do it the old fashioned way: go to a store and play one until you love one.
 
Another thing about acoustics is that you can't pick up one from a certain maker and judge the whole line. For instance, Taylor makes a lot of different models with the same shape but they all sound different. Some are designed more for finger pickers, some for strummers, etc... If you're a strummer and you get a guitar designed for finger picking, the sound can come across as harsh. This is why Taylor has road shows. They do a great job of explaining their models and matching one up to your particular preferences. And yes, I love Taylor acoustics. Their necks are non-glossed and the intonation throughout the neck is perfect. You just have to find the model that sounds good to your ears.
 
Dave Matthews Band is great :)

Its the same with acoustics as with electrics. You have to find the right model for yourself. Every acoustic sounds different. I can advice Lakewood guitars Link. They are very good. I also like Taylor and Martin Models. Try and see what you prefer ;)
 
I have a Martin D28 that I can play comfortably and have no problem going between that and my Musicman guitars. I also have a shallow back Ovation (from before the company was sold) and it's neck is a hard v-shape similar to the Luke but like I said even more pronounced (wonder if that's why Luke plays them too----besides they are the standard for plugged in acoustics).
 
pretty dumb idea. Like PRS making an acoustic. Or Taylor making an electric. No one will looks seriously at it and sales will never be there.
 
EBMM however make the best PIEZO equipped guitars EVER, so play to the strength and quench the acoustic need there.
 
While Martins are great, I've never felt a neck as similar to EBMM as the Seagull Artist. The majority of Seagull guitars out there and available are the ones Godin outsources, but the Artist series, made entirely by hand in a small shop in Canada, and sound and feel freaking KILLER!!!!!

Could not recommend them any more! And they're unbelievably priced. Check it out- it's worth a look for sure. As an electric player primarily, I've never been so at home than I have with the Seagull Artist.

Taylor's solid-body electrics got some good reviews....

And as for acoustics, I love Martins! The 000 body shape is my favorite.
 
Find a new luthier, or someone just graduating from a luthier coarse (they usually build 1-2 under supervision of a master). There are alot of awsome, detail oriented, type A personalities out there that will build you one for a reasonable price before they get a name and reputation. You may even get to dictate a shape if they haven't built the jigs yet.
 
I've been totally stoked with my full composite/graphite RainSong For many many years going on a decade already. So as you can imagine I'm pretty spoiled when it comes to acoustic guitars. As I am with electric guitars! I totally understand that it is a different market for someone to get into with acoustic guitars versus electric guitars so there's a whole different level of research that needs to be done and price points to be hit. Another endorsement I do besides EBMM is Michael Kelly guitars and they make some pretty decent acoustic guitars from what I've tried already. But still I stick with my RainSong And use Michael Kelly patriots series guitars for my through body neck design guitars ala Les Paul style. A RainSong Is a different animal from most acoustic guitars in my opinion. And mine was last series made and Maui Hawaii before they moved To "I think" it was Washington State So it's made and sounds quite differently from what I've seen them put out as of late. However with that being said, if EBMM would decide to make an acoustic guitar I would be more than confident to say that it would be one of the best out in the market. Thus, I'd probably have one and play that one just because I know how good the quality and feel of the electric guitars are. But it's perfectly understandable that it's a different venture to get into, not a impossible venture but I'm pretty sure it would be a difficult transition to make. And I would think that more room would be needed, possibly a different warehouse (factory) and more workers and different luthiers to do different things. But still EBMM Would definitely be world-class in whatever they do with their instruments, strings etc..
 
USA Ovation for more of an electric feel. Also they always sound great plugged in. Can't say the same about Taylors.
 
Yeah, electronics are becoming an important part of the acoustic market, I'd have to agree with Lou on that one. It would also depend on what you need as far as your playing is concerned.

I don't have the money to spend on an excellent mic just to use on an acoustic piece. It's much easier to have an acoustic/electric running into a separate rig or straight into the PA.

That's why I love Maton acoustics (almost all their models have the option to be wholly acoustic , or acoustic/electric) they use a piezo system with an soundboard mic to get that perfect blend of tone.

Not cheap, but still, quality is top notch.

Giving a shoutout to seagull to though, excellent quality for the price.
