"the" action is what "the" ladies like to give me when I play "the" bass..... or at least my wife does... when I ask reeeeally nicely... after I've done the dishes ..... and put the kids to bed....:p

anywho, usually what "action" refers to is the height of the strings from the frets. To adjust it involves tweaking the saddles and yes, the trussrod (occaisonally you might need to file down the nut but never on an EBMM bass, they're good from the shop!)

Getting an action you like is a combination of saddle height and truss rod adjustment. If you don't have any experience with truss rod adjustment, work with the saddles first before you start messing with the truss rod. A page or two back there was a good topic on setup which covered the process in depth. If you read that carefully, understand the concept of a truss rod and absorb that info, truss rod adjustment is not too difficult. The most important things are 1. make any changes in small increments only 2. don't overtighten the truss rod.
