I'm spoiled by the piezo in my JP6, and would like to add that functionality to my 1999 Morse Blueburst.

Anybody else been down this road?

I'm fairly handy with a soldering iron and project stuff - but wanted to first see if anybody could talk me out of it (doubtful, but go ahead and try :) ) and then see if anybody had any recommendations on a piezo unti to go with?

Have a gig in late March that this would be killer for...

yup, put a fishman piezo bridge on my tobacco burst Y2D.
use the fishman power-chip for piezo preamp (put it inside the electronic cavity), changed the tone-knob to a push-pull for turning the piezo on/off. no volume option because the chip is inside housed, but i don´t need this as an option.
let my guys at my guitar-shop drill the mini whole for the piezo-cable.
changed the original jack to a stereo-jack (comes with the power-chip or bridge)
it works very well for me. i run my piezo signal to the PA all the time, so no need for me to have a mono-output option.

I ran the Graph Tech system in my Morse for a few years. I've since taken it out, but it sounded great.

Old thread opener again. :)

I'm doing investigation what to do more with my Morse. :)
Thinking about using a synth and looking for other options than classic Roland pickup.

Beej,
did you remember any issues during installation of Graph Tech's bridge (I suppose that you used whole Ghost bridge).
Did you have acoustiphonic or also the HEX?
Was there enough space in cavity for the PCB? And also for another one, for the HEX PCB? :)

I have pretty good experiences with Graph Tech system, had it on my Godin in past.(only piezzo)

I'm thinking in a way that instead of "simulated" acoustic guitar from synth I'll be much more satisfied with sound from piezo and also have option for synth sounds separated. So three separated sounds. :D

Thanks

I used the Ghost bridge + acoustiphonic board. I didn't install the HEX board, but there is room if you do it correctly. (It gets a little tight in there.)

The Graph Tech system was great. My only beef was the slight hiss from the preamp. Only noticeable with the amp gained out, but still, I found it a bit annoying. So, I wired up an active/passive switch- it would fully disengage the preamp (also handy for when your battery dies). Best of both worlds.

I don't use piezo that much and was continually chasing a different sound from that guitar so I took it all out. Btw, if you decide to do it and have any questions, just drop me a line.
