Adding ukulele to guitar

My wife wants to add a ukulele to the family band (an instrument small enough for our instrument-interested 4-yr-old). It would be my job to teach her. I am currently teaching myself guitar.

Is this going to be really confusing to the two of us? To one of us? Are there any tips I need to translate between the two? I'm still in first position, playing basic cords and single-line melodies from music (I can do TAB, I just have more background, and therefore interest, in written music).

Is there actually ukulele TAB? That's funny.

Seriously, basic bar cords on ukelele sound ok. I am no ukelele aficionado, but it would likely be a fun and relatively easy instrument for a 4 year old to handle.

If you tune the uke same as the top 4 on a guitar there would be no conflict.
