Adjusting the neck on Y2D . Advice please

I'm used to the truss rod adjustment up in the top of the neck and I just want to get a bit of info before I try a minor adjustment . Guitar is a hardtail .

I'm getting a "slight" buzz in the lower few frets so I'm thinking a wee bit of neck relef would help this by giving a bit more fret/string clearance . Should I turn the wheel CCW to loosen ? I'll only do it a little at a time of course but I just want to make sure I'm doing it right .

Also , recommended pickup/string spacing , pups seemed really low and I have raised them some but maybe someone knows what is recommended or works best with the Y2D :)

Thanks Guys

Hi-

BP has some comments about pickup height on this video (at about 1:15) :

[ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lkI3Kffq4H4&mode=related&search="]YouTube - Ernie Ball - Steve Morse Talks With Sterling Ball #2[/ame]

essentially, he says the pickups are low because they're designed that way, and really it's best to leave them as is.

Thanks Sean , I noted the space before I brought the pups up a litte so I set them back where they were . Had a feeling there was a reason they were so low . It's explained in that video you suggest and I watched #3 was well that has Steve putting the guitar through the gears , very cool . :)

I have raised the single coil on all on my Y2Ds. The reason was it suited my setup, you can always put it back to it's original height. BTW have you posted pics of you Y2D yet?

Well had 100 lookers but no advice on setting the neck with the truss rod adjustment ( just needed confimation on how EB's adjust just to be sure ) .

Anyway , loosened it off an 1/8th of a turn CCW and that's all that was needed to remove the buzz at the lower frets .

Hey- glad you got that sorted out. There's a FAQ on the EB site that talks about setup, action, truss rods, etc.
