I have a little problem. I noticed that my SUB neck isn't how it's supposed to be. It's like the top example on the picture below.

Now, i can adjust this with the truss rod. Problem is, i never touched a truss rod, so i'm kinda scared to do it. Which side to a turn it too? How much? Do i need to loosen strings first?

Yup, i don't have a clue  Any advice would be appreciated!

If it looks like the top picture, while facing the fretboard turn the wheel to your right a half-turn. Then check and repeat as needed, just a little at a time though. Then you can fine tune it a little this way or that. No, you don't need to loosen strings, but do retune before checking it each time. It's an easy adjustment, especially on MM guitars.

Its quite simple actually.

You gotto find a screwdriver to fit nicely into the truss rod turner. No too small, just nice will do.

Push the screwdriver into the hole, and REMEMBER - all the way in till you feel the wood, it shows that the driver went through to holes and provide good leverage for you to action/turn upon.

Next, with the guitar in playin position, pull the driver towards you for relief, or pull it downwards to tighten, BIT BY BIT, NO HURRY.

Keep fretting the note where you discover fret buzz, while simultaneouly turning the trussrod turner to bow the neck as required. Remember to do it slowly. Also to tighten and loosen your strings, or to intonate the saddles to appropriate heights when necessary.

No worry dude - I was just like you 2 week ago. I took up the courage to adjust myself, done my 2 Balls, am very satisfied and lovin them even more!! You will be amazed with yourself for things that would have accomplished in a tech-shop! No B#ll s#it here!

Hope this help. Happy New Year!:D

An easy way to remember which way to turn the truss rod was how someone posted here:
"Lefty loosey....righty tighty"

Sorry for the late response. I tried it today. I was really scared to break anything, but it all went ok. Really easy system! A+ :)

Thanks for the great advice.

The Music Man are great for adjusting the truss rod. I do not understand why the other guitar brands are still using the old system where you have to remove some parts of your guitar before adjusting the truss rod. Masochism perhaps ???
