Yes. The standard advice applies to the standard EBMM unfinished maple necks. Works a treat on rosewood too. Rosewood is naturally oilier so the usual caveat applies - be conservative. You can do more if need be, but too much is more difficult to deal with.

Just a word of caution when you sand go extremely easy as you do not want to change the profile of the neck or make it uneven in spots. I know it sounds like a no brainer but have seen many intelligent guys get carried away.

Oh well just got round to doing it and WOW!!! why haven't I been introduced to this Gun Stock wax before now? amazing stuff I didn't use the oil I just used the wax after lightly rubbing with 000 steel wool and its like bloody silk now! Cheers Guys :)
