I am looking at purchasing a JP6 guitar I have a choice of two.

One is the mystic dream guitar everything looks right about it except the pickups have they always used the liquifire and crunch lab pickups as the one does not have silver strip down it.
the serial number is g16294

thanks
Pete

The original JP6 used different pickups, post in the stickied thread above with the serial number and an EBMM rep will respond with the date of birth for that particular guitar.

In addition to what Kinji said, it wasn't until 2008 that the Crunch Lab/Liquifire pickup set was introduced. Eight years after the JP6/JP7 was introduced.

Captain, My only regret with the JP6 is that I did not get one years ago, about the perfect guitar for me. Be prepared to be inspired and exponentially grow as a guitarist. My current problem is I cant decide on which EBMM to get next...

In case you are not aware, the original custom Dimarzio bridge and neck pickups on the earlier JP6 guitars to which jonnyboogie and Pete are referring are voiced similarly to the Dimarzio Steve's Special and Air Norton pickups, respectively.

The pickups in the original JPMM axes were some of the best pickups I’ve ever heard.
