hah Thanks for the props on the bass. I actually got my first and only comment on bass-looks on Saturday, after playing fancy pants coffee table basses for years heheh. The concensus seems to be that my bass looks good 
As for the EQ stuff, yeah, I think it was due to the room accoustics. I did not have enough time to really mess with things, but I think some amp tweaking from my normal settings and some onboard EQ and I woulda been good to go. Great suggestions BP, I appreciate your input, and I will put it into practice tonight!
Will know more at rehearsal tonight. I will record it with my minidisc just to make sure
I also have to point out how comfortable this bass is to play, even more comfortable than my bongo was.
