haven't thought too much , being afraid not to awake rationality :))) so I'm buying the JP70 also :D (the green one)

Brian, can you tell me pls what string gauge has the JP 70? I haven't found this info on the EBMM site

I'm using now Hybrid Slinkys 9-46 for the 6 string, but I checked the EB site and there is no Hybrid set for 7 string :( and no possibility to buy the 0.56 string alone
guys do you know other companies that sell single strings ?
I found here in my country only Elixir (around 7$ - crazy for 1 string) and I could buy it and put along a Hybrid slinky set.

any other suggestions? :)
thanks

Hi Paolo!
The JP70's come from the factory with 10-56 on them, for sake of ease at the factory level.

Personally I have set up several Artist guitars here at our facilities in Orange, CA, and have done so with the Ernie Ball 7 String Cobalt, which are 10-62. Doing so did require fitting the nut to the strings, but WOW! Those strings, and that gauge made a huge difference in what was already a super playing and sounding guitar.

I'd recommend making this change to any of the JP70's, and it's a readily available string pack without having to search for oddball singles.

The model number is the following: Ernie Ball 7-String Cobalt, 2730.

Trust me, you'll be happy with these strings!

Brian thank you very much for the fast reply , I really appreciate your help...in the good tradition of EBMM customer orientation :D

Problem is I have a forearm muscle hypertrophy at both hands, apparently caused by computer (work related although I'm not a programmer :)))
10-46 on my Luke and my JP were not at all OK, 9-46 is pretty nice now, I can bend do hammer ons pull offs easily and still have fat chunky riffs on D, A, E strings

I will see how it feels the JP70 with the stock strings and decide after, having the fact that there is not "hybrid" set for 7 strings
but as far as I've read on forums , on JP70 for higher gauge strings you feel more tension , cause of the shorter scale compared to other 7 string brands with longer scales

how can I purchase singles from EB ? http://www.ernieball.com/products/electric-strings/5210/056-cobalt-wound-electric-6-pack
I haven't found on ebay or any major retailer ...
