I've been in semi-retirement for the last five years or so, I took a break to care for my parents. During that time I've freelanced, took up bass guitar and been a fixture in the local blues jam scene. But I haven't been in a practicing band, well now I've joined one.

The guitar player put this myspace page together and the music is from our first gig, it's got mistakes and the sound quality ain't the best but it's getting there. I'm having fun playing again and we've improved a lot since this gig. The bass player is an excellent guitar player as well and I will get to play bass so he can rip. Guess what brand of bass I'll take to the gig! :D

Way to go, Chuck. There's nothin better than playing with a group of individuals and not only finding your sound, but finding the bands sound.

Wow. I love your keyboard work and the windy solo (is that an oboe or a viola sound?) just blew me away... so beautiful! It sounds like you're really enjoying it!

Hey thanks guys! I’m having a blast right now.

And there’s a classic country trio that has given me the ultimate gig, anytime I want to play with them all I have to do is show up! They’ve given me their schedule for next year and they’re booked solid, they rarely rehearse and the pay is great! I get to use a whole different set of sounds, fiddle, steel guitar, harmonica and BANJO! They are real nice guys and great players too. This will work well with my main band, as that band won’t really get a lot of gigs due to the heavy emphasis on instrumentals. (Around here Beach Music and the Blues are king…)

@Oli that was a cello virtual model that only sounds real with the Bose PAS system and I was too lazy to bring it that night.

Thanks for all the encouragement, kind words and listening, I love you people!

… now if I could just get a bass gig.

Colin refresh my memory on what the heck you're talking about.

Well, we have a big gig tonight opening for Bob Margolin and it should be a blast! We also have New Year booked now! I may be too lazy for all this. :D
