I'm 37 years old, and have played guitar for 23 years. I was a professional musician from 1985-1994. Now I handle the computer needs (relational database admin, CR report design, VB.NET stuff, GIS, AutoCAD, network & desktop issues, etc. for a group of electrical engineers at a large power utility. I just say I'm a computer geek most of the time. Also finishing my Bachelor's in CIS at my local university.

I must say that this thread appears to be the longest, or d*mn near close, in the 2 year history of the board.

Good stuff, people, and kudos to maceos for starting it. :)

WOW! I can't believe how large this thread has gotten. It's so cool to get to know everyone a little better.

I wonder how much longer this thread can go?

Awright, I'm new to the board, but here goes anyway:

I'm 30, and a full-time temp at JPMorgan in NYC in the presentations department (PowerPoint, Word, Excel, etc.). Essentially, the typing pool of the 21st century.

It's the day job that pays the bills while I pursue what I really want to be my career: music.

Or, the short version: Music for love, PowerPoint for money.

You can listen to my music here:

Let me know what you think. Particularly if you like it! ;)

38, pro guitarist. Work around Nashville area and on the road. Glad to be a part of this forum. I think Music Man guitars are probably some of the best made guitars in the U.S....I'm very impressed. Thanks for having me in this forum.

I cannot believe I somehow missed this thread!
Boy that took a while to read.
There's quite an intelligent bunch here. I would say that says something about the guitars. I find it interesting as to what the average age is here. Some other guitar forums which shall remain nameless seem to be all 13-18 year olds. Not that there's anything wrong with that. It's just a different level of experience and conversation.

I am 36yrs young architectural designer. I have been married for 13.5 years, have 2 sons 6yrs & 10 months old, and a daughter who's 10 going on 29!
I don't even have a guitar at the moment. I play one of my daughter's 2 guitars to get my fix until I can purchase a EBMM!

ps. you guys are great!

I can't remember if l've done this here before.

Anyway.
I am 26.
Day job is Network Administrator
Been playing guitar for about 16 years.

I'm a virgo, l like long walks along the beach. (man these things make it seem like a dating agency.)

I'm a practical joker, if there is a joke/practical joke going around work, it's normally my brain child. :p

Scott.

I'm 45, married 20 yrs to great wife that puts up with my AS. Have a daugter who should graduate HS this year.

I work for a computer company as a Systems Administrator. Always wanted to play guitar but just never got around to it until late in life. Been playing on and off for about 7 years. Hopefully this year I can apply myself and practice more.

I enjoy playing Xbox games and especially enjoy riding my Harley.

Many years ago I also was a photographer too. Did weddings and some commercial photography but was really into the artsy stuff, Ansel Adams, Manuel Bravo and others.

Sheesh, I think thats enough already!!!!

I'm 47 and have been married for 22 years. We have 4 sons (duh...). My two older sons are really into playing guitar as well. My oldest also owns a Super Sport, and has passed me by in skill level.

I've been playing since I was 15, although almost exclusively acoustic until the last few years.

I work as a financial analyst for a large beverage company.

My apologies if I did this before (maybe at 39...?), I'm recently 40 and I'm an engineer with an MBA currently working for japanese automotive electronic components manufacturing company.

I love playing videogames on my x-box, and sometimes I get together with some of my co-workers to enjoy a great time playing halo 2!

I have a 9 year old daugther and still married...

And of course I play guitar since I was around 8 and then a pause and getting it back from around 12 to date, I try to be a collectionist or sometimes just a yunkie, I have around 55 guitars and around 28 amps/pre-amps to play with but very few hours to enjoy them as much as I would like.

I'm 35, finishing up my Ph.D in math at Colorado State University. I just got a job at Armstrong Atlantic U. in Savannah, Georgia so I'll be moving there this summer and start teaching in the fall.

I've been playing guitar for 22 years, banjo for a year and a half, and drums for about eight months. Fortunately for my neighbors I got an electronic kit, so only I can hear how awful my timing is.

So, I guess it'll be next year before you can join in on the St. Paddie's day celebration? :D
