Happy birthday mesavox! Should we sing? :D

Do you own any EB's? Or did you post that elsewhere?

Oh, my birthday is Feb 16th... I just meant that as of the day I was posting I was 28. LOL. I guess that wasn't worded quite right. lol

Yes, I have a 7 string Petrucci in Desert Gold with piezo, and matching head. I'm also firing up plans on ordering a 6 string in what looks like will be Mystic Dream. I have the Ibanez JPM and I really like it but it doesn't have the piezo. I'm also excited to hear the difference between the 7 string and 6 strings pickups because I really like the Air Norton and Steve's Special better than the ones in the 7 string. Hopefully between all three I'll have a nice mix of tones that are all based on the same thing, but different outputs, etc.

I'm also thinking of a Silo Special down the road and putting Lindey Fralin Blues in it all three single coils.

Since I'm a music major with emphasis on guitar, I should be able to get lots of good playing time in despite my rather heavy workload. At 28, I should be a lot more prepared to bear that load than if I were 18. lol

I missed this one before the Open House, but I'll contribute now.

My name is Tom Romay. I'm 35 years old. My wife Wendy and I attended the Open House. We have 2 boys aged 13 and 7. I'm a licensed Reactor Operator at Palo Verde Nuclear Generating Station.

I've played guitar off and on since the age of 10, and around a year ago bought a bass to tinker on. I liked bass so much that I sold off all of my guitar stuff, and now am focusing solely on bass. I'm glad that I held on to a few guitars, my 13 year old has just started playing. :)

It was great meeting most of you at the Open House!

No wife, no kids,.... no sex... uufghhdsf maybe I will finish this confession:D

thanks to SteveB,Raz,Fogman,Beej and all the others for kind words about my crappy playing, and thanks to all members for creating such a great community here,

I am Elmer J. Fudd, millionaire. I own a mansion, and a yacht.

:D

Sorry, couldn't resist.

I'm Adam, 42, and I'm a Mechanical Engineer and a Programmer.

I couldn't wait to start playing trumpet in 3rd grade, switched to Baritone horn in 4th, and played in the school band up until H.S. graduation. Being in the band was a wonderful experience I recommend to everyone. It taught me how to read music, basic music theory, and allowed me to associate with some really cool, talented, intelligent people, and exposed me to great music.

But I always liked rock guitar, so I started playing when I was about 22. Never took lessons, and never practiced, which is why I'm not as good as I'd like to be. Ten years ago I was in a band for about 6 months. We weren't very good, but we got to play on stage a few times as guests of my friend's band.

There's alot of very cool, friendly people here, and I wish I could've met some of you at the open house.

Ad wasn't it " am Elmer J. Fudd, millionaire. I own a mansion, and a unyacht." in Elmer Fudd german accent.

Hahahaha, I had forgotten about that.

Nice to see another mechanical guy around here, what do you make?

Just turned 29. I work at a software company on the support and upgrade team.

Been obssesed with music/guitar ever since my 14th birthday. Been playing for going on 16 years now.

BTW didn't know if this had ever happened to any on you, but most kids got grounded from friends/telephone, whatever, I would get grounded from my guitar when I was a kid. They hit me where it hurt. :D

I'm 20 and am involved in all kinds of shinanigans at this point in my life. I am working as a Leasing Agent in one proprty in NYC part time. WEll right now it is full time (kind of) since I took off semester from college. I am actually studying, or WILL be studying music when I return next semester. I got into the classical conservatory without having any lessons or teachers. Well, one guy did help me, but mainly helped me empty my wallet all the time  . Anyway, I am also very interested in photography lately (AGAIN). It has been ages since I thought about photography, but I was awakened by realizing that I need a camera to take pics of my Silhouette to post on this forum :D ;) . I am also into working out like 4 times a week, and am getting more and more into the technical aspect of guitars. I've been playing for around 4 years, but not until recently I REALLY started realizing that I am behind in theory and such. Technique is basically what I've been working on for that time period, but started realizing that I cant improvise "properly" or write or mainly finish writing pieces. And some time HAS been taken away from me because my father would ground me away from my guitars for some time. It is like a European crazy thing. I am from Slovak Republic by the way. Anyway, those are my shinanigans ;) .

31 12/8 married with two kids 8 and 3. Own a house payment and work as a courier for a hospital transporting pharmacuticals and lab specimens. Drive about 400 miles a day only 4 days a week. I started playing guitar at 15 then at 19 traded my beloved steinberger for a car. Figured out that being ugly was no reason not to have a woman and didnt pick up a guitar again until I was 25. Recently quit a black gospel group only to spend more time playing with my balls by myself. Thats as exciting as it gets.

Hi, I'm James and I'm an alcoholic

oh.... wrong meeting:D

Well, I'm 32 and I live in the UK. I work as a 'technical surveyor' in the electronic security industry (CCTV etc) which basically means that after the sales people get an order, I make it work (sometimes).

I'm currently studying for a BEng with the Open University in a vain attempt to prove that I'm not stupid, but on reflection, I think earlier indications were right;)

In my spare time I run sound for an amateur theatre, plus I also act and direct.

I play occasional blues with a band and we went to France in August to play (in the bar) at a big blues festival. We tell people that we opened for the "Blues Band" which has a grounding in truth, we played at 5 o'clock, they played at 9 o'clock. OK, so we were in different parts of the town, but that's hardly the point is it:D

I've got 2 Axis Sports' (HH and SSS) an old aluminium necked Kramer, a mexican tele and a Kramer something or other (doesn't have a FR, but has got a pointy headstock).

I'm debating whether or not to get a SUB, but I prefer the feel of wood, so I was considering a Benji Madden. Any ideas????
