Run my own Surveying & Consultancy Company.
Played since 7 - Gigged mid teens through early 20's.
Stopped playing regularly a good while ago (sport, work, wife  )

Wife thinks this recent playing revival is the beginning of a mid-life crisis !

She could be right - I now spend a lot of time playing with my Balls...... :)
OK, time for a Ferrari and a mistress !! :D

Age and Occupation

Hi,
I'm 53 and work as a Biomedical Scientist specialising in Stem Cell Treatment. I am also a semi-professional musician (since the age of 15). I play in a theatre pit band and do sessions as well as gigging with the Conundrum Showband.
Life is never dull though!

I'm 30, and I'm an ultrasound tech. I've been in the medical field for 10 years, and I've worked all over the south. Virginia, West Virginia, South Carolina, Alabama.

I've been playing guitar for 14 years. I own a EBMM Axis, a couple of Kramer and Charvel replicas. I have one acoustic, a Washburn Cumberland. I'm also a drummer, been playing since 5th grade. (most would think I still play drums at a 5th grade level anyways)

Thanks, Foggy, for bumping this thread to current time. Fascinating reading about backgrounds of forumites.

I thought I won the oldies medal, but I guess Colin’s got me there.

My name’s Bruce, and I’m 61. In my heyday I toured as a solo singer/songwriter opener for John Prine, Leon Redbone, Jonathan Richman and the Modern Lovers, and Tim Weisberg’s band, plus session production work at Bearsville Studio in NY. After that I got into radio marketing and management for 25 years, then TV and cable. Now I do consulting, business and personal, semi-retired.

Nice to meet you all!

34 and I play guitar for a living. I play weekly at two church services as well as several other worship teams sporatically. I teach lessons to about 22 people. I play gigs occasionally with friends and sometimes weddings (not my cup 'o tea).

All of this is to support me while my rock band, The New Absolutes (see below), rises to world domination!

I'm 40. I work as a Quality Assurance Engineer for PGP Corporation. We make encryption software. It's a cool gig but very demanding. I'm an ex bass player of nearly fifteen years who put it down for nearly 10. When I came back to music I decided to go the six string route, which is what I had started with in HS. I'm a husband and father. My daughter is 3. Work and family consumes most of my time. I am currently in 'woodshed' mode but am having a blast just playing again. I currently have a couple PRSi. Got a Silo and Luke on layaway though and can't wait to get 'em home.

When I stopped playing bass many, many years ago my Sterling was my number one. Best bass I'd ever played!!! So of course checking out EBMM guitars was a natural choice.

Maybe I should do and update?!

I am now 32, and work for a local council doing desktop IT support. All the users are Win 2K/XP though there are some Mac's on the network. I currently do an average of 3 gigs a week with various bands I play with, my favourite being Rough Justice! www.roughjusticerock.com

I have a fantastic girlfriend who sadly lives in Virginia, though it means a good excuse to cross the Atlantic whenever I can! (Been to the USA 3 times this year!)

Billing and Payroll manager in the Elevator Industry in a one-story building which I think is ironic. It has its ups and downs. If one of these Elevator union guys doesn't get paid correctly I could end up burried under the next stadium being built. Hopefully I'll get my new axis and play it once before that happens.

OK, I'll bite.

I'm 41 (but have been accused of behaving like I'm 21 ;) ) and work as an engineer in the telecommunications industry. Woohoo! Not exactly my dream job, but they pay me way more than I'm worth, which allows me to buy.... more guitars!

I live out my rock-n-roll guitar hero fantasies a couple of weekends a month playing in a cover band with guys that are WAY better musicians than I am, and I absolutely love it.

36 years old and I'm bogged down by two jobs. One is a commercial air system salesman/engineer and the other is a theoretical physicist with the Fitz-Gibbon group.
The Big Bang is wrong.
