I win....

I will be 52 (holy crap!) on October 18, lawyer for past 25 years in New York, concert promoter and tour manager before that. I represent some artists, and have a passion for reggae music. Amatuer player, but try to learn something new each week....and I enjoy this website much.

I've already said this once before but I can't believe that this is still going. It's been almost 2 years since I started this thread.....very cool.

Just to update my info: I'm now 33 and a Technical Project Manager for the same brokerage company. I don't post much, if at all, but I read the forum on a daily basis so kudos to all for keeping this thread alive.

My life story in a few paragraphs.

I just saw this thread, and figured I'd pipe in with my version:

I turn 24 on Wednesday (October 11) and am officially without a job as of last Friday. I quit my job as a hotel/bar/liquor store manager; due to stress and overall hatred of the job. I live out in western Canada where we ride polar bears to work repairing dogsleds for foreign countries. (I enjoy fueling the stereotype fire.)

I look forward to pumping gas and cruising by under the radar for the next year or so... that is until I find a pretty Italian girl that will have me, and allow me to leech off her parents wealth.

Hadn't seen this thread before -
I'm 44, the mother of 4 and have been playing bass for 31 years. I've been playing around with guitars for about 41 years - Honestly, you think I'd have gotten the hang of it by now!:D
Day job is as a radiologist and residency program director - that's the best part -getting to train the young 'uns. In my spare time I gig with tommyindelaware in a Country pop band at least once a week. I have another folk rock all original band that gets together about once a month, and I'll pick up a jazz gig when I can. I tried giving up giggng and bass for about 14 years and found myself crying every time a song I used to play came on the radio. Playing Raffi songs for the kids on the acoustic was fun (ever intentionaly messed up the animal sounds in Old MacDonald? - the fans go wild!), but I just really missed jamming!! Now my 15 year old son is pickng up bass, drums, and guitar - it's too cool!

OK Fogman, I will take the bait, even though I am not really a newbie any more,

I am almost 47, damn that thought sucks, and been trying to play for only 3 1/2 years I am a System Application Engineer designing and programming building automation systems for a large company in Dallas TX.:)

This thread is so old...I forgot that I'd already posted my bio!

Thanks to Foggy for periodically keeping it alive.
