I just got an email from my buddy Domingo in Peru - he's the guy who built my 7 stringer. I sent it down to him a few months ago to have some work done, new gaboon ebony fretboard, frets, etc etc. Well, tomorrow morning he drops it off at DHL, and it should be in my hands on Friday. So what? you may ask. What does this have to do with the y2ds?

Well let me tell you.... First comes more agony.

The first of the y2ds I ordered back around NAMM (mine - woo hoo!) is shipping out tomorrow morning from SLO. HAHAHAHAHA there is the agony, it's Fred, Jay and I who are first, not you ;) sorry, I had to

There are other y2ds I have on order for forum members that are all in various stages of being built/setup (you guys all know who you are) It seems to be that they will be arriving at approximately the same time, give or take a week or two or maybe 3 in one case. MOST of the ones you freaks from the forum ordered will be arriving right around the same day.

SO!
I was thinkin of having a y2d party here at the stores, and Pops DuBaldo likes the idea, too.

Basically... Some of you had mentioned that you would be interested in making a journey here to pick up your y2d in person, and hang out for a bit and ogle at the assembly of y2ds all lined up with your tags on them. Well...

I would hereby like to say that this event can be held on a Saturdayor Sunday afternoon most likely Dec 17/18th, Jan 7/8th, or Jan 14/15th (date to be decided by popular forum vote in another thread, if possible) and that this event is open to any forum member who wishes to stop in and check out the store, EBMMS, y2ds, etc, and you can even try to pry a y2d out of it's owner's hands and test-drive it.

We will provide the following (taking cues from Sterling & the EB Open House)

  • Tour of the original DuBaldo Music Center
  • Tour of Beller's Music (D.M.C. store #2)
  • Presentation of y2ds
  • Opportunity for a mega jam session, with drums, bass, keys, etc
  • Opportunity for a guitar lick sharing/roundtable style Q&A session with other forumites, or 1 on 1, if you're into that thing and Luscious is there.
  • EB strings & shtuff and MM guitars on sale, natchully
  • Food
  • FUN (unless NorM shows up) then it's chaos and we all get lost! (sorry NorM)

So.....

Any interest?

If not, I will go run and hide the y2ds!

(styling cues in the thread courtesy of NorM)

PS those of you who want your guitar shipped, I understand, and won't keep it here for the party.

Ah well, even if it's first out the door on the same day I'm still happy :D

Pete- that's a fantastic idea, and I'd love to do it if everyone can make it. Got to figure out how to get Tommy there.

Any of those dates work for me, but the more time the better to book a flight.

Thanks for the awesome offer.

I'm nearby and should be able to make it.

But does it count if we are only there to pick up our Rosewood Axis SS with piezo that, from what I understand, may be delivered int the same timeframe? ;) :D

That's hillarious you thought the same thing :D:D:D

Hopefully NorM is smarter than the coyote because the coyote uses ACME products and usually ends up at the bottom of a revine......after a puzzled look and a long fall....;)
