the two pickup option on the stingray and sterlings have the front single about, wait for it, about a half inch back from where it is on the bongo...or so it looks from the online schematics.

please , correct me if I'm wrong.

If I'm right, I guess I have my answer concerning which modification to put my Bongo through so I can slap on the thing

Looks like you're on the right track. I don't have the measurements, though, so....

I think that what you are seeing there is that the Stingrays and Sterlings have less frets. So it could be that the pickups are in the same spot, and the more room is really because of the shorter fretboard.

More routing may be required on a single H

I assumed he was talking about the space between the end of the neck and the neck pickup. If the pickup is getting in the way, I thought a single H would give him all the room he needs (and sound killer!)

If that wasn't the issue, then I'm not sure what it is.

It's tricky because the schematics don't include the bridge or any actual mesurements for comparison.I have a couple of other 24fret 35 inch scale hum /single basses and the front pickup on both of those aren't too close to the neck.I tried eyeballing from the pics on the MM site, but there are no pics ,that I can find, of the new two pickup sterlings or stings....all very frustrating!

not a picture of me holding my bass, but I have exactly the same model
