just ordered my 20th sr5 with a maple neck, and now i have doubts.
i wanted a maple neck to get that "extra" sound, but when i go back and look at the pictures in the torture thread, im not sure i did the right thing!

i know the bass is the right thing! ive always heard that sr sound in my head and have desperately tried to make all my other basses sound like that (hehe.. no luck, no luck indeed with that :))

but lookin at the images of the rosewood vs the maple i begin to have doubts!
could it be because the maple one doesnt have matching headstock??
could it be that the maple is too bright compared to the caramel colored sunburst?
could it be that im goin crazy?

is there any chance of a picture of a sr5 with maple neck and matching headstock? pirty please?? :D
just to settle my mind.. i did the right thing!

Don't doubt it, my friend. It's gonna look just fabulous!! Keep the configuration as you ordered it!

... it does sound strangely familiar somehow :p

Maple is soooo cool. And it gets dirty.....I mean takes in more mojo. :)

hehe... i still find the dark fretboard more appealing visually, but i love the sting in the maple neck, so ill just settle down :D
i guess ill be jumping with joy anyway when i get it.. hehe

Hmmm, my dealer couldn't give me an estimated delivery time, but his 'educated guess' was somewhere around september

I had already made my peace with the long wait, although, seeing that they're already in production makes me hope it'll be here sooner than that. I know, maybe it'll be false hope, but I can't help it :)

Funny thing is, I went back and forth so many times on maple vs. rosewood and matching vs. non-matching headstock that I cannot remember exactly how I ordered for my 20th. Maybe Pete remembers.

Guess I'll find out eventually.

If it's any reassurance I am not terribly fond of burst, nor of maple necks, and I think that combination looks HOT! I'm pretty sure you'll love it. The matching headstock is da kine.

i guess we europeans are dependent on when the importers have their next delivery. i presume they wont have my sr shipped all on its own :)
