AL HH Hardtail or Trem

I'm diggin' the hh option on the AL. Played one, but last summer.
Considering ordering one, but unsure if Hardtail would be better option for me coming from the les Paul camp
For those that own or have played both, does the trem option detract from the thickness I hear on video clips?
Is there a discernible difference?

I have a Hard Tail ALhh & I had a Trem version in my store. Comparing the two. My hard tail was lighter in weight, & seemed to be tighter in sound. (my ears though ha-ha). Me being a huge trem fan though I did miss it. At first. I sold both of my les pauls because I could achieve the sound plus more with the ALHH. My AL is more like a Tele Custom I had for a while then a gibson paul. But It gets that fat-gibson tone easy. Taking my Luke and ALHH to a gig is the perfect pair for me.

No disrespect to the lp. Great guitar. It's just not inspiring me to play or to wanna play.
I want something that resembles that thickness, but that is fun & enjoyable to play.
Video clips I've seen/heard sound really good.
Plus, it looks different which is cool.

I have a trem on my AL. It still can do the Les Paul thing I think. Do you use the trem alot? If you don't care for it just get the hardtail. Or get the trem and fix it by tightening the trem screws/claws. I did this with my Reflex and it plays like a hardtail.

I don't necessarily need a trem, but thought it would be just another option for variety; like if I need it, it's there.
....unless it was determined to detract to that sweet thickness I hear on the clips ( hardtail, I believe).
Need something to inspire me. Would love to start writing again.

My two cents would be to order one with the trem. When they come from the factory they are
Essentially a hardtail but then atleast down the road you have the ability to use the trem if you want.

The woods used to,make each particular guitar vary from piece to piece. They will have more impact on tone, IMO, than having or not having a trem. I have an HH AL with trem. I also have an LP copy. The pickups you choose to use will also have more impact on "thickness" than trem or no trem. Th AL has those wonderful Axis pickups in it and they sound amazing! You just gotta play each individual piece and find one that suits you. You can always and more "thick" with a pickup change, if needed.

I love Hardtails myself, but I understand the appeal of a trem. However, I've heard both AL HH's, and I prefer the tone of the Hardtail.
