Hi Guys,
I have been enjoying my AL MM90 for a while but I think it could use a beefier bridge pickup.
What has anoyine ever swapped into the bridge?
I have a Rio Grande Bluesbar sitting around and was thinking about swapping it in.

I don't have an answer for you on the pickups, but I was wondering if you could help with a question. I'm in the market for a P90 guitar, the Albert Lee is quite appealing, how would you describe the tone you get from that guitar with the P90s?

Thanks for any insight.

I’ve always liked buckers but my ASS w/90’s had me pleasantly surprised.

On clean, their warm, clear and roll up the volume and they get a little dirty.

On high gain they tend to give off a slight hum.

btw... in the for sale thread is my BFR ASS. :)

I think I have a DLX sitting around....
To me, the AL MM90 sounds like a fat stratocaster. Not a Les Paul Junior for example...

Do I have to route anything to install a DLX?
Edit:
After rooting around, I have a Dimarzio DLX Plus (DP-154), two Yamaha Q100s which are some DLX variation,
A Rio Grande Blues Bar and a Bill Lawrence L-560.

OK, after measuring everything, It looks like I need to route the bridge pup cavity about .100 to .125".
The DLX IS deeper than the MM90.
Since this would require bridge removal to make a clean job with my router, I just shimmed the MM90 up some more.
This made quite a positive difference. I think I am happy with it.
So the DLX is going back in the drawer.....
Adjustments make quite a difference with the MM90s. I wish they were suspended from the pickguard like the Reverends used to be.
