I replaced the stock pickups with Dimarzio Transitions last night and the tone is *exactly* what I was looking for in that guitar. Smooth and articulate - they sound so balanced. I didn't want to put the guitar down (even though it was almost 1am on a "school" night).

Would you say that it is a drastic difference or not?
Drastic difference to me. Every covered pickup that I have owned has sounded *way* too nasally to me. I loved the way my Al played and initially replaced the stock pickups with BKP Crawlers, but they were too modern sounding. The transitions match the vibe I am going for with the guitar.
