I would like at this time to extend an apology to Big Poppa and the rest of EBMM for any disruptions I caused in the last week due to reactions from misuderstandings of details from my custom order. The phrase "luck of the draw" will haunt me for a while.
I have my money back and the sales guy who took my order at The Arts bought the guitar. A fitting but ironic ending to say the least.
Life goes on..

I can't remember a guy taking more heat for anything on this forum than you did for the neck thing.

Which was more likely the result of whatever screaming, etc. that went on between you and the company's employees off board. Sort of a turning the tables thing IMO.

To me what happened was simply that EB has set the expectations bar so high as a result of their great instruments, that sometimes on the rare occasion, a customer is dissapointed for whatever reason.

I think most of us would agree the 2nd best moment (but the most exciting) of getting a special order guitar is opening the case for the first time. And the best moment is playing it for the first time.

To me the easiest solution would have been to ask the store to knock a few bucks off.

Still hoping you find a great albert. They're fantastic guitars.

Hope you find what you are looking for.....

I hope so too.

And I like I said before, this is a cool place. Post pics when you get your new axe. Are you still getting an AL? What's the plan? Good luck.

I've refrained from posting on this whole mess since I think anything I might have said was pretty well covered by someone else at some point, but I do want to point out that this says a hell of a lot, imho... that the guy who works at the guitar store - who sees dozens of guitars a week pass through his hands year in year out - thought this unsuitableduetoalackofbirdseyeintheneck guitar was good enough to lay down his hard earned cash for it, and he didn't even order the thing in the first place...

I need to know 2 things. Will you forumites including dealers in North America point me to an Albert Lee hanging somewhere that has been overlooked.Trans.color,hardtail,figured neck,SSS are preffered options.UPS and pictures can work wonders.I still believe these guitars to be unique and are high quality instruments.
If this search fails will Big Poppa and his team build me another one????
Time is not a factor now since I found a nice players guitar to keep me busy.
I need to know these things before I shop or make a premature mortgage payment!

I think what you need to do is go into the dealer locator and start punching in zip codes for major cities, looking for dealers in like a 100 mile radius.

I haven't looked in a while, but you can usually find a honey or sunburst in inventory here and there.

You can also see which dealers carry a lot of stock. You might call them anyway to see what they have.

They come up occasionally on ebay too.

A Vintage sunburst, 3 single, trem was hanging in Truetone music Santa Monica, CA last time I was there. It played and sounded great...and has been there a while, but good tech guys there

2 things.
1. Not sure they can ship to canada per dealer contract
2. Not a lot of birdseye on that one either

Well, I will add my 2 pennies here. That took a lot of pride swallowing and doing so on this forum to boot. You did take quite a bit of heat and most of it was from me. At this point, I hope you stick around, I hope you get the AL you are after and I hope you get it soon! Peace from me.
