I've come across a used AL and although I have always thought it would be nice to have one I don't know to much about them. This one has a natural finish which I have never see on an AL before. Is this just a regular EBMM finish or is there a chance it has been stripped? Also, is the silent circuit an option or does it come standard. Thanks so much!

There is no "natural" for an AL but without seeing the guitar in question its tough to make a judgment on the finish. A very light or faded honeyburst or trans gold might look natural, but unfinished ash would be very light.

The silent circuit is standard, and was introduced to the Al around the turn of the century, after it had already been in the Silo Spec and Sport for a few years. Prior to then it was not available.

Any more details and we might be able to give you some more answers

Strange - I replied to this earlier today saying something like "I'd check my catalog".

MbG is 100% correct, insofar as a natural finish was not a factory option on the AL.

Here is a picture. Perhaps this is trans gold...
